Don't Put Off Buying a Cremation Urn

It's not uncommon for a family member who has been keeping a box of ashes in the closet for 10 years to decide to purchase a cremation urn and finalize the interment of their loved one. Often, they are embarrassed and ashamed that they have waited so long to make a decision. It's best to purchase the urn as soon as possible, however there's no shame about buying the urn after the cremation or funeral has occurred. You'll know when the time is right. The only problem with putting the decision off is in the event you are storing the ashes and something happens to you or your home and the ashes are disturbed or unaccounted for.

No one wants to buy a cremation urn. It's probably the last thing you would ever want to shop for. But if you have to make that decision decide if you want the urn at the memorial service and where it will reside. Do you plan to scatter or bury the ashes later?  Discuss with your family even though they may not want to talk about it and because ultimately the final decision could be yours, this will help narrow down the selection process.

You can either go back to the funeral home and check their selection or shop online at one of the many websites that carry cremation urns. Many urns can be purchased for less than $200.00 and are lasting memorials to the one you love.
